We are so very grateful to all of our volunteers, here at The Eric Liddell Community. We cannot do all that we do without them!
To celebrate Volunteers’ Week, we want to introduce you to 7 volunteers, nominated by our staff for their excellent service, and dedication to their roles.
Meet Robert our Kitchen Volunteer.
Robert has been volunteering with The Eric Liddell Community since November of 2016, but you may not have seen him around the building much, as he is often working hard behind the scenes in our kitchen filling the role of Kitchen Porter!
We are lucky enough to have scooped up Robert for this volunteer role as he comes to us with years of experience working in the kitchens of 5-star hotels around Edinburgh.
In addition to his regular shifts in the Café’s Kitchen, Robert is often the one first volunteers to raise his hand for an extra shift to help with special events and fairs. He is always willing to pitch in, and we are very grateful for his dedication to his role!
When asked how he would describe The Eric Liddell Community to a friend he said “I’d just say everything! It would take hours to explain all that happens here.”
Robert believes that volunteering is important because “helping someone helps you!”
We are so glad to have had Robert helping us for the last (nearly) 7 years!
