Edinburgh’s Eric Liddell Community is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Drury as its Chief Operating Officer.
Paul joined The Community in April 2023. He is an experienced charity professional, with over 20 years’ experience in various senior roles across both operational and fundraising disciplines.
The Eric Liddell Community is one of Edinburgh’s few specialist dementia day care services and a popular community hub providing room for a wide range of tenants, daily and weekly events and activities for all age groups.
Prior to joining The Community, Paul worked in the social care and international development sectors.
Most recently he was Head of Fundraising at CrossReach, one of Scotland’s largest voluntary sector care providers and he also served as a Director of Operations, then Director of Income Generation for Bethany Christian Trust for 11 years.
In between his time at Bethany and CrossReach, Paul worked for the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF).
Welcoming Paul, John MacMillan, CEO of The Eric Liddell Community, said:
“Paul’s breadth of experience in his career includes project development and implementation, local authority tendering, staff development, fundraising and business development.
“We aim to always provide the best service to each and every one of our clients and Paul’s expertise will assist us in building and expanding the charity.”
Paul also served for over 6 years as a Trustee and latterly Vice-Convenor of EVOC (Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council).
He was a founding member of the Scottish Fundraising Standards Panel, and has also been a UK Board Member of the Charity Retail Association.
Paul said:
“I am thrilled to be appointed to this role with a charity that I know and admire. My vision for the Community is that we can continue to provide the high level of care, support and encouragement that we have become very well known for. I also look forward to seeing the organisation grow and develop, and be the exemplar of a community hub; the place where people can unwind and offload, share and catch up, feel supported and be themselves.”
