Our services are a lifeline for everyone who attends, providing a community for people to rely on. One of our service users recently shared that they would ‘be seriously lonely if [they] didn’t attend’ sharing that ‘It helps to fill the hole in my life.’ We need your help, this Christmas, to continue providing these critical services.

Over the next 25 years the number of people in Edinburgh living with Dementia is set to double, touching more lives with loneliness and isolation. It can take up to 12 months to receive a diagnosis from the NHS leaving a staggering number of people waiting to receive specialised support. This not only affects those on their dementia journey, but their family and loved ones too. That’s why we are so grateful to be able to partner with BigGive to double your donation and end this critical gap for so many people, this Christmas and beyond!

Double the Impact
Participating in the Big Give Christmas Appeal means that every donation made to our Christmas campaign via BigGive.org during the week of 3rd-10th December will be doubled (up to £4000). That’s right- DOUBLED– that means £4000 could become £8000! Whatever you can give, no matter the size, every donation will make double the difference in supporting us to deliver our critical services.

What can you do now?
• Add a calendar reminder to your diary for 3rd-10th December, including this link Belonging at Christmas . The donate button will appear on this page when the campaign starts at 12pm (midday) on 3rd December.
• We’d doubly appreciate if you could share the campaign with your friends, family or social networks- anyone who may be interested in having their donation doubled! Why not share our campaign on social media and tag #belongingatchristmas to share your reasons for supporting The Eric Liddell Community
Your continued support will help us in the fight to create a community where no one is isolated or lonely. Christmas can be an especially lonely time, especially this year when so many people are struggling to afford warmth and light in this cost-of-living crisis. Our Christmas appeal aims to create a safe, warm and sustainable community hub for our diverse community this Christmas and beyond. We will achieve this through services like:
• Our free weekly Wellbeing Lunches which provide our community with a free hot meal and a place to find company.
• Our sector leading Dementia Day Care group, where people benefit from a real sense of purpose and dignity, foster genuine friendships and are empowered to shape their own care and support.
• Our Befriending Service which provided over 2,500 hours of companionship to those who are facing isolation or who have overwhelming responsibilities as unpaid carers.

Would you please consider donating, this December, to fight loneliness and isolation this Christmas?

Don’t forget to donate via this link Belonging at Christmas between 3rd-10th December to have your donation doubled.
