No. Although the resource has been developed in line with Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence anyone can utilise the resource and adapt it where needed to best suit their audience.

All of the lesson plans other than the Physical Education lesson plans require the use of a computer, overhead projector, and sound system to utilise the presentations. Some lesson plans require specific equipment, these are outlined under the ‘equipment’ section in each lesson plan.

Some lesson plans include supporting materials that can be printed out or accessed virtually on individual devices.

Lesson plans are aimed at young people studying under the second level of Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence. However, they can be differentiated to suit those learning at lower and higher levels. In addition, the Physical Education lesson plans have been created to ensure they can be carried out with children of all abilities including those with disabilities and additional support needs.

The lesson plans are PDF’s so although the actual PDF’s can not be edited you can use whichever parts of the content you feel are suitable for your learners and can adapt other parts to best suit your audience.

The Uncle Eric Fact can be used to help set the scene for the lesson, educate pupils on a part of Eric Liddell’s story, or regain focus on the aim of the lesson where needed.

The Uncle Eric Fact earned its name because that’s what the youngsters in the internment camp affectionately called Eric, acknowledging his impactful role in their lives.

The timeline shows key dates and important events in Eric Liddell’s life. It is an integral part of some of the subject-specific lesson plans and can also be used during PSD lessons and form classes to generate discussion around Eric Liddell’s life and values.

The Eric Liddell 100 Values Sheet includes definitions of the three values and a list of associated characteristics.
